Héctor Ruiz, tenor

The young tenor Héctor Ruiz Vilches (Valencia, 2001) begins his musical studies in the Escolanía de Valencia, where he is one of the main soloists having the opportunity to debut the role of Trujamán by Manuel de Falla at the age of 12 in the Palau de les Arts.

He then trained vocally with Emília Onrubia and obtained the Premio Extraordinario de la Generalitat Valenciana for his brilliant record at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Valencia. In 2024 she finished her studies at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona with Joan Martín-Royo as vocal technique teacher, Soojeong Joo as repertoire teacher and obtained with Siena Ensemble the Extraordinary Prize at the end of her degree in chamber music. Throughout these years at the conservatory he has performed the Mozartian roles of Don Basilio, Don Curzio (CSMV, 2021), Ferrando (Conservatorio Liceo, 2022) and has been soloist in many other conservatory projects.
In addition, in the 23-24 season he sang as soloist Mozart’s Requiem at the Palau de la Música Catalana under the direction of Xavier Puig and Handel’s la Música Catalana conducted by Xavier Puig and Handel’s Messiah with the Orquesta Joven de Cerdanyola del Vallès. He also participated in the Bachcelona festival with the Cor Bachcelona Akademie, conducted by Lluís Vilamajó, in the Early Music Morella festival, with the Academia Vocal de Capilla de Ministrers, conducted by Marco García de Paz and in the French festival Nuits Musicales de Armagnac as a scholarship soloist receiving classes from the baritone Didier Laclavo-Barrère.

This season he has sung at the Life Victoria festival in the Life new artists section and has been awarded the Salvat Bach 2025 Scholarship. He is currently completing his training by studying the Master of Lied “Victoria de los Ángeles” in ESMUC and collaborates regularly with the most important choirs of Catalonia as well as the Choir of Gran Teatro del Liceo, Cor de Cámara del Palau or Capilla Real de Cataluña.
