Franco Oportus, bajo

Franco Oportus was born in Santiago, Chile. He studied music at the Alberto Hurtado University in the same city, during which time he participated in various professional productions, such as the cycle of chamber music concerts of the same university, the cycle of Bach cantatas of the Catholic University of Chile and operas in the most important stages of the country, including Dancairo (Carmen), Marullo (Rigoletto) and Pastor 2 (L’Orfeo). Between 2020 and 2022 she participated in the first Young Artists Program in the country, in charge of the Ibáñez Atkinson Foundation, where she trained with renowned teachers such as John Norris, Bradley Moore and Eytan Pessen.

Since 2022 he has been in Germany where he participated in the Opera Studio of the Landestheater Detmold and the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, making his debuts as Lämmemeier (Frau Luna), Masetto (Don Giovanni), Ping (Turandot), Robert (Das Feuerwerk) and Falke (Die Fledermaus). At the same time, always interested in the German repertoire, he began his regular study of Lied, which led him to participate in competitions such as the Schubert and Schumann in Zwickau with his duo Yinxuan Li.
